Upcoming elections
Today I was on CNN's website looking through their polling center and found some very interesting numbers for the upcoming elections specifically how the American people think bout the issue of illegal immigration. The first poll was American's stance on Dems the second poll looked at Republicans win control of Congress if American's think they would improve illegal immigration. Seems like the American people don't hold much confidence in the Dems who knows perhaps America will turn to the Republicans now or maybe not but this upcoming elections seems to have some close running polls between the Dems and Reps. What are your views?

Interesting how nearly 60% of respondants think that the Dems would not move the country in the right direction regarding illegal immgration as opposed to only 44% think the GOP would go the wrong direction.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I see no difference in the Reps and Dems as they both stall immigration reform for political expediancy. I'd be interested to see once Boehner gets the gavel if there will be any push against illegal immigration.
Thanks for the post!
What typically happens when one party controls both the House and the Senate, that party produces a spread. Seat holders generally tend to be less politically motivated. There is a lot of speculation about the Republican party gaining more seats from the upcoming congressional election. It is unlikely that they will be able to take over the Senate's majority, but it will close the gap between the two parties. This can cause friction between the presidential-congressional relationship.
ReplyDeleteThe president is in dire need to get the New START treaty he signed with Russia back in April ratified by Congress in order to improve relations with Russia. Improving relations with Russia is on Obama's agenda. With more republican seats, the treaty may not become ratified because many Republicans cannot shake the distrust they hold because of the Cold War & Moscow.
It will definitely become interesting. I think the war and other international relations will become the highest priority in the nation's agenda. I don't know if handling illegal immigration is included within that agenda. We will see!!
P.S. Great post, by the way!
